بخش اول – گزارش
Lee sat among the books at the library and thought about his group project.
لی در میان کتاب‌های کتابخانه نشست و به پروژه‌ی گروهی‌اش فکر کرد.
They had to turn it in soon, but he hadn’t even started his part!
آن‌ها باید به زودی گزارش را تحویل می‌دادند، اما او حتی بخش خودش را شروع نکرده بود!
Jack and Claire were in his group.
جک و کلر در گروه او بودند.
They had worked hard.
آن‌ها سخت کار کرده بودند.
They were also very smart, and Lee didn’t want them to get a bad grade.
خیلی هم باهوش بودند و لی نمی‌خواست نمره‌ی بدی بگیرند.
Jack did the report.
جک گزارش را انجام داد.
He wrote a lot of very good sentences and described things clearly and carefully.
او جملات خیلی خوبی نوشت و همه‌چیز را به‌وضوح و بادقت توصیف کرد.
Claire drew a nice map of the stars.
کلر نقشه‌ی خوبی از ستاره‌ها ترسیم کرد.
Now, Lee needed to do his part of the project
حالا، لی باید بخش خودش از پروژه را انجام می‌داد.
“Well, I suppose I need to start my model,” Lee thought.
لی فکر کرد: «خب، فکر کنم باید مدلم رو شروع کنم.
Making a model of a planet was really hard.
ساختن مدل از سیاره واقعاً سخت بود.
Lee tried to read several books, but he couldn’t understand any of the charts.
لی سعی کرد چند کتاب بخواند، اما نمی‌توانست هیچ کدام از نمودارها را درک کند.
“We’re going to fail because of me!
لی گفت.
” Lee said.
: «به‌خاطر من رد می‌شیم!
He put his head down on the table and said, “I wish I could see a planet and an alien, instead of having to read about it!
» سرش را روی میز گذاشت و گفت: «کاش می‌تونستم یه سیاره و یه آدم فضایی رو ببینم، به‌جای اینکه مجبور بشم درباره‌اش بخونم!
Suddenly, he had a great idea that would help him solve his problem.
ناگهان، او ایده‌ی عالی‌ای به سرش زد که به او کمک کند تا مشکلش را حل کند.
Why not go on the web and look for photographs of the Earth and other planets taken from space?
چرا به وب نرود و به دنبال عکس‌هایی از زمین و سایر سیارات گرفته‌شده از فضا نباشد؟
They would give him a really good view of the planets they had to talk about in their report.
آن‌ها واقعاً منظره‌ی خوبی از سیاره‌هایی را که باید در گزارششان صحبت کنند، ارائه می‌دهند.
Instead of a bad grade, his group would have the best project ever.
به‌جای نمره‌ی بد، گروه او بهترین پروژه را خواهد داشت.
The photos of Earth showed lots of clouds, but you could still see the shapes of land and seas on Earth.
عکس‌های زمین ابرهای زیادی را نشان می‌داد، اما هنوز هم می‌شد شکل‌های زمین و دریاها را روی سیاره‌ی زمین دید.
He also looked at photos of Mars.
او به عکس‌های مریخ هم نگاه کرد.
Lee now had plenty of ideas for making a model of the planet Mars.
لی حالا ایده‌های زیادی برای ساخت مدل از سیاره‌ی مریخ داشت.
All he had to do was to turn his ideas into a model.
تنها کاری که باید انجام می‌داد این بود که ایده‌هایش را به یک مدل تبدیل کند.
He used a small ball to help him make the shape he wanted and then painted it to look like the photos of Mars that he had seen.
او از توپ کوچکی استفاده کرد تا به او کمک کند شکلی را که می‌خواهد درست کند و بعد آن را رنگ کرد تا شبیه عکس‌های مریخ باشد که دیده بود.
Sometimes seeing is much more helpful than just reading!
