His books are excellent and they’re full of passionate, emotional language and words and emotional passionate ideas about how to make business into something more, something special, not just greedy little people trying to get more money, but really trying to contribute and help people and do great things.

So that’s what Tom Peters writes about and it’s why I really like him.

He’s got a great Website TomPeters.com and he’s got a lot of great books.

And this book that I’m talking about today is called Leadership .

و این کتاب که من امروز دارم راجع بهش صحبت می‌کنم «رهبری» نام داره.

And there’s a little section and the section is called “Leaders Make Mistakes”, so I’m going to read this small section and then I’ll talk about it more.

و یه بخش کوچیکی هست و اسم اون قطعه «رهبران اشتباه می‌کنند» هستش، پس من قراره این بخش کوچیک رو بخونم و بعدش بیشتر راجع بهش حرف می‌زنم.

So here we go.

پس می‌ریم که داشته باشیم.

“Leaders make mistakes and they make no bones about it.

On the wall of my writing studio in Vermont hangs a quotation by David Kelly, “Fail faster, succeed sooner.

” Next to that quote hangs another by Diane Arbus who told her students “Learn not to be careful .

In placid times leaders may think they have all the answers.

In turbulent times leaders must have the best questions, questions that encourage others to undertake voyages of mutual discovery and the essence of that process is letting people screw up.

While thoughtless recklessness is not to be applauded, the word reckless must be examined carefully.

Most people who change the world, Martin Luther King, Galileo, and Picasso, they were indeed reckless, but not thoughtless.

Okay, that’s the end of this section, passionate language from Tom Peters, as always.

What’s he saying?

اون داره چی می‌گه؟

Well, quite simply, he’s saying that you have to try new things.

خب، به شکل کاملا ساده، اون داره می‌گه باید چیزای جدید رو امتحان کرد.

You have to take risks in your life, in business.

شما باید توی زندگیتون، توی تجارت، ریسک کنین.

And when you take risks you will make mistakes, you will fail.

و وقتی ریسک می‌کنید، اشتباه خواهید کرد، شکست خواهید خورد.

Failure is mandatory.

شکست الزامیه.

Mandatory means required, it means you must do it.

Mandatory یعنی ضروری، یعنی باید انجامش بدین.

You must make big mistakes because without big mistakes you will never have big successes.

شما باید اشتباهات بزرگ مرتکب بشین بخاطر اینکه بدون اشتباهات بزرگ، موفقیت‌های بزرگ نخواهید داشت.

He’s saying that the essence of succeeding is failing.

اون داره می‌گه جوهر موفقیت، شکست خوردنه.

The people who succeed the most, the people who become the richest or the companies that do the best, it doesn’t matter what area of life, they’re usually the people who have the biggest mistakes because they’re always trying new stuff.

افرادی که بیشتر از همه موفق می‌شن، افرادی که می‌شن پولدارترین یا شرکتایی که بهتر از همه‌ان، فرقی نمی‌کنه تو کدوم بخش از زندگی، اونا معمولا آدمایین که بزرگ‌ترین اشتباهات رو کردن بخاطر اینکه اونا دائما دارن چیزای جدید رو امتحان می‌کنن.

They’re always trying to do something much, much better, much bigger, and much more interesting and many times, they fail.

اونا همیشه دارن سعی می‌کنن یه کار خیلی خیلی بهتر، خیلی بزرگ‌تر، خیلی جالب‌تر انجام بدن، و اونا خیلی مواقع، شکست می‌خورن.

Many times they make mistakes, but they don’t stop.

They don’t cry “I made a mistake, I failed”, they learn from it.

I’ve made so many mistakes when I started Effortless English, when I started the company.

We started as a small membership site, but then that didn’t work.

ما به عنوان یه سایت عضویت کوچیک شروع کردیم، ولی بعد اون جواب نداد.

It was a failure, it was a big failure, so we quit and then we tried something else.

We started recording the lessons and selling the lessons as a bundle, as a group.

And then that worked, but our first Website was really ugly.

Unfortunately, in school people are taught to be afraid of mistakes.

What happens in school if you make a mistake?

You get a big red (x).

As you grew up going to school year after year you were taught again and again, don’t make mistakes.

If you want to have a great life you absolutely must make mistakes.

اگه می‌خواین زندگی فوق‌العاده‌ای داشته باشین، باید حتما مرتکب اشتباه بشین.

If you make big mistakes you’ll have a great, big, fantastic life.

اگه مرتکب اشتباهات بزرگ بشید، زندگی عالی، بزرگ و خارق‌العاده‌ای خواهید داشت.

It doesn’t matter if you like it that is the truth.

مهم نیست که دوستش دارید یا نه، حقیقت اینه.

So you need to learn how to screw up and you need to learn how to accept it and learn from it and do it again and again and again.

پس شما نیاز دارین که یاد بگیرین چطور گند بزنین و نیازه یاد بگیرین چطوری بپذیریدش و ازش درس بگیرین و دوباره و دوباره و دوباره انجامش بدین.

That’s Tom Peters’ message, it’s also my message.

They never contribute, they never write anything.

As a teacher I always try new things.

I learned and then I tried something else and I tried something else.

If you do nothing, if you refuse to write, if you’re afraid to make mistakes, you’re going to learn slowly, so that’s my challenge to you.

Let everyone see the mistakes.

If you really want to improve as an English learner, if you really want to speak better and write better and understand better that’s what you must do.

Let’s go to the beginning.

بیاین بریم به اولش.

They have a phrase “they make no bones about it.

یه عبارتی داشتن They make no bones about it (عین خیالشونم نیست).

” Tom Peters says “Leaders make mistakes and they make no bones about it.

تام پیترز می‌گه رهبرا اشتباه می‌کنن اما عین خیالشونم نیست.

” So that’s a little idiom there, to make no bones about something.

پس اینجا یه اصطلاح ریزی داریم، To make no bones about something.

When you say “they make no bones about it”, it means they don’t apologize for it or they don’t try to hide it.

وقتی می‌گی They make no bones about it یعنی بابتش عذرخواهی نمی‌کنن یا سعی نمی‌کنن پنهونش کنن.

They don’t feel bad about it.

احساس بدی بهش ندارن.

That’s the meaning of this phrase.

این می‌شه معنی این عبارت.

It means you do something and you’re not worried about it.

یعنی یه کاری می‌کنین اما نگرانش نیستین.

You don’t apologize for it.

واسه‌ش عذرخواهی نمی‌کنین.

You don’t feel bad about it.

حس بدی بهش ندارین.

You don’t try to hide it.

So it says they make mistakes and they make no bones about it.

It means they make mistakes and they don’t feel bad about making the mistakes, they feel good.

They are direct and honest about it.

They don’t try to hide it, they don’t feel bad about it and they don’t apologize.

سعی نمی‌کنن پنهونش کنن، حس بدی بهش ندارن و معذرت‌خواهی نمی‌کنن.

They make no bones about making mistakes.

اشتباه کردنشون عین خیالشونم نیست.

They don’t apologize for making mistakes.

واسه اشتباه کردن عذرخواهی نمی‌کنن.

They don’t try to hide their mistakes.

اشتباهاتشون رو پنهون نمی‌کنن.

They don’t feel bad about their mistakes.

حس بدی به اشتباهاتشون ندارن.

They make no bones about it.

عین خیالشونم نیست.

Okay, then a little later he says “In placid times leaders can pretend to have the answers.

خب، یکم بعدش می‌گه “توی وقت آرامش (Placid times) رهبرا می‌تونن وانمود کنن که همه‌ی جوابا رو دارن”.

” Okay, placid.

خب، Placid.

Placid means calm, calm (c-a-l-m), calm.

Placid یعنی آسوده، آسوده (C-a-l-m)، آروم.

So it means nothing is changing, right?

پس یعنی هیچی در حال تغییر نیست، درسته؟

Everything is calm and slow and relaxed.

همه‌چی آروم و آهسته و ریلکسه.

So during placid times in the economy, in history, when everything is calm, then the leaders can pretend they are strong.

پس توی اوضاع آرامش اقتصادی، توی تاریخ، وقتی همه‌چی آرومه، رهبرا می‌تونن وانمود کنن که قدرتمندن.

They can pretend they are perfect.

می‌تونن وانمود کنن که کاملن.

They can pretend they know everything.

می‌تونن وانمود کنن همه‌چیو می‌دونن.

So in calm times leaders could, in the past, pretend to know everything.

پس توی اوضاع آروم رهبرا توی گذشته می‌تونستن وانمود کنن که همه‌چیو می‌دونن.

They could pretend to be perfect.

می‌تونستن وانمود کنن که بی‌نقصن.

But he says “In turbulent times leaders must have the best questions, not the best answers.

ولی می‌گه “توی دوران آشفتگی (Turbulent times) رهبرا باید بهترین پرسش‌ها رو داشته باشن، نه بهترین جوابا”.

” They can’t pretend to know everything.

نمی‌تونن وانمود کنن همه‌چی رو می‌دونن.

Instead, they have to ask a lot of questions, always asking questions, asking questions.

در ازاش، باید کلی سوال بپرسن، دائم سوال بپرسن، سوال بپرسن.

So that’s what happens in turbulent times, what must happen in turbulent times.

پس این چیزیه که توی اوقات بی‌ثباتی اتفاق میفته، چیزیه که باید توی اوضاع آشفتگی اتفاق بیفته.

Now turbulent, of course, is the opposite of placid.

حالا Turbulent، مشخصا متضاد Placid هستش.

Turbulent means not calm.

Turbluent یعنی آسوده نباشه.

It means rough or changing fast, chaotic, so in chaotic times, in rough, difficult times, in times when everything is changing quickly, in turbulent times, turbulent.

یعنی سخت یا به سرعت در حال تغییر، آشوبناک، پس توی اوقات آشوبناک، توی دوران سخت و دشوار، توی دورانی که همه‌چیز سریعا در حال تغییره، توی اوضاع آشفتگی، Turbulent.

Turbulent is the opposite of calm, turbulent, not calm.

Turbulent متضاد آرومه، آشفتگی، آروم نباشه.

Tom says that these questions that leaders ask – they ask everybody questions all the time – the questions must encourage other people to undertake voyages of mutual discovery.

تام می‌گه این سوالایی که رهبرا می‌پرسن – اونا دائما از همه سوال می‌پرسن – این سوالا باید بقیه افراد رو تشویق کنه که سیاحت‌های (Voyages) اکتشاف (Discovery) مشترک و متقابل (Mutual) رو بر عهده بگیرن (Undertake).

What does that mean?

این یعنی چی؟

Undertake voyages of mutual discovery.

Well, to undertake means to start, to start doing something.

خب To undertake یعنی شروع کردن، شروع به انجام چیزی.

So to undertake a voyage means to start a voyage and a voyage is a trip, it’s a journey, a trip.

پس To undertake a voyage یعنی یه سفری رو شروع کنن و Voyage می‌شه سفر، سیاحت، گردش.

So he’s saying you must encourage other people to take a trip, to start a trip, to undertake, to start.

پس داره می‌گه شما باید بقیه افراد رو تشویق به سفر کردن، شروع یه سفر، به عهده گرفتن، شروع کردنش، بکنین.

So, again, to undertake something means to start something, usually something that takes a long time.

پس دوباره، To undertake یعنی یه چیزیو شروع کنین، معمولا چیزی که وقت زیادی می‌گیره.

So you’re going to start something and it’s going to take a while to finish it, to undertake.

پس قراره یه چیزیو شروع کنین و قراره اتمامش وقت زیادی ببره، به عهده‌ش بگیرین.

And you’re going to undertake a voyage.

و قراره یه سیاحت رو به عهده بگیرین.

Again, a voyage is a journey, it’s a trip.

دوباره، Voyage می‌شه یه سفر، یه گردش.

Now he’s not talking about a real trip, like New York to Los Angeles, he’s talking about an emotional trip, an intellectual trip.

حالا اون راجع به یه سفر واقعی مث نیو یورک به لوس آنجلس صحبت نمی‌کنه، داره راجع به یه سفر عاطفی، یه سفر فکری حرف می‌زنه.

It means changing what happens in your mind, so a trip, a voyage of mutual discovery.

یعنی تغییر دادن چیزی که توی ذهنتون اتفاق میفته، پس یه سفر، یه سیاحت از اکتشاف متقابل.

Mutual means shared, it means it’s something you do together with other people.

Mutual یعنی مشترک، یعنی چیزی که همراه بقیه افراد انجام می‌دین.

So, for example, you have a team.

مثلا یه تیمی دارین.

You want your team to take a trip together, a mutual trip, mutual, together.

از تیمتون می‌خواین تا با هم یه سفری داشته باشن، یه سفر متقابل، متقابل، با هم دیگه.

It means everybody shares it, it happens to everybody.

یعنی همه توش مشترکن، واسه همه اتفاق میفته.

That’s mutual, mutual means shared or happening to everybody.

این می‌شه Mutual، یعنی مشترک یا اینکه واسه همه داره اتفاق میفته.

And, finally, the word discovery means learning, learning.

و آخریش، کلمه‌ی Discovery یعنی یادگیری، یادگیری.

Or to find new things, find something new, learn something new.

یا چیزای جدید پیدا کردن، یه چیز جدید پیدا کردن، به چیز جدید یاد گرفتن.

So that whole phrase, which is a little difficult, to undertake voyages of mutual discovery, to start a trip of shared learning.

پس کل اون عبارت، که یکمی هم سخته، To undertake voyages of mutual discovery، می‌شه یه سفر مشترک یادگیری رو شروع کردن.

So what he’s saying is leaders encourage their people to learn new things together.

پس چیزی که داره می‌گه اینه که رهبرا افرادشون رو تشویق میکنن که که چیزای جدید رو با هم یاد بگیرن.

Leaders encourage their people to do, to try, new things together.

رهبرا افرادشون رو تشویق می‌کنن که چیزای جدید رو کنار هم انجام بدن، امتحان کنن.

That’s what he means.

این چیزیه که داره می‌گه.

And he says the essence of trying new stuff is letting people screw up.

و می‌گه ذات (Essence) امتحان کردن چیزای جدید اینه که بذارین افراد گند بزنن.

Alright, essence means the core, the most important idea.

بسیار خب، Essence یعنی هسته، مهم‌ترین ماهیت.

It’s what’s most important.

چیزیه که از همه مهم‌تره.

So the most important part of trying new stuff, the most important idea, the most important point of trying new stuff is letting people screw up.

پس مهم‌ترین قسمت امتحان کردن چیزای جدید، مهم‌ترین ماهیتش، مهم‌ترین نکته‌ی امتحان کردن چیزای جدید اینه که بذارین آدما گند بزنن (To screw up).

To screw up means to make a mistake or to fail.

To screw up یعنی اشتباه کردن یا شکست خوردن.

To screw up means to fail or to make a mistake.

To screw up یعنی شکست خوردن یا اشتباه کردن.

You say “Oh, I screwed up!

مثلا می‌گی “Oh, I screwed up”!

” It means I made a mistake.

یعنی من اشتباه کردم.

I made a mistake, I screwed up.

اشتباه کردم، گند زدم.

To screw up means to make a mistake.

To screw up یعنی اشتباه کردن.

He says “You must screw up.

می‌گه باید گند بزنین.

You must make mistakes.

باید اشتباه کنین.

If you’re a leader you must encourage your people to screw up.

اگه یه لیدر هستین، باید افرادتون رو تشویق کنین که گند بزنن.

You must encourage them to make mistakes.

باید تشویقشون کنین اشتباه کنن.

Help them to make mistakes.

کمکشون کنین اشتباه کنن.

Congratulate them when they make big, interesting mistakes.

وقتی اشتباهات بزرگ و جالبی می‌کنن بهشون تبریک بگین.

Encourage them to screw up.

تشویقشون کنین گند بزنن.

Our next word is mandatory.

کلمه‌ی بعدیمون Mandatory (الزامی) هستش.

He says “Big mistakes are mandatory.

می‌گه اشتباهات بزرگ الزامین.

” Mandatory means required and necessary, something you must do.

Mandatory یعنی مورد نیاز و ضروری، یه چیزی که باید انجامش بدین.

It is mandatory to make mistakes.

این الزامیه که اشتباه کنین.

It means you must make mistakes.

یعنی شما باید اشتباه کنین.

It is required, it is necessary to make mistakes, it is mandatory.

مورد نیازه، ضروریه که اشتباه کنین، الزامیه.

If you want to succeed, if you want your business to grow and be great, well then you must make big mistakes.

اگه می‌خواین که موفق بشین، اگه می‌خواین که تجارتتون رشد کنه و فوق‌العاده بشه، خب پس باید هم اشتباهات بزرگ کنین.

Big mistakes are mandatory if you want big success.

اگه موفقیت بزرگ می‌خواین، اشتباهات بزرگ الزامین.

And a great phrase, he says “Reward excellent failures, punish mediocre successes.

و یه عبارت فوق‌العاده، می‌گه به شکستای بزرگ پاداش بدین، موفقیتای متوسط (Mediocre) رو مجازات کنین.

” Mediocre means normal, average.

Mediocre یعنی نرمال، متوسط.

Not great, not terrible, just in the middle.

نه عالی، نه افتضاح، صرفا حد وسط.

So he says punish, punish people for mediocre success, for so-so success, for average, normal success.

پس داره می‌گه مجازات کنین، افراد رو برای موفقیت‌های عادی مجازات کنین، واسه موفقیت‌های حد وسط، موفقیتای نرمال.

Tom Peters says that average and normal are bad.

تام پیترز می‌گه متوسط و نرمال، بدن.

They will hurt your business.

به کسب‌وکارتون صدمه می‌زنن.

Instead, reward excellent, great big failures.

در ازاش، به شکست‌های بزرگ، عالی و ممتاز پاداش بدین.

Next we have the phrase “to be applauded.

بعدش عبارت To be applauded (مورد تشویق قرار گرفتن) رو داریم.

” He says “Thoughtless, recklessness is not to be applauded.

می‌گه بی‌پرواییِ بدون‌فکر (ُThoughtless recklessness) نباید مورد تشویق قرار گرفته بشه.

” To be applauded means to be rewarded, to be congratulated and to be complimented, right?

To be applauded یعنی مورد پاداش قرار گرفتن، مورد تشویق و تمجید قرار گرفتن، درسته؟

Applauding means clapping your hands like this (clap, clap, clap, clap, clap).

Applauding یعنی دست زدن مث این.

I’m applauding right now…yay, yay!

من الان دارم تشویق می‌کنم… هورا، هورا!

It means to be cheered, to be valued, to be applauded, to be complimented, to be rewarded.

یعنی مورد تشویق و ارزش قرار گرفتن، To be applauded، مورد تمجید و پاداش قرار گرفتن.

They all mean similar things.

همه‌شون معنی مشابه می‌دن.

So he’s saying don’t applaud, don’t congratulate, don’t reward, don’t applaud thoughtless recklessness.

پس داره می‌گه تشویق نکنین، تبریک نگین، پاداش ندین، بی‌پروایی‌های بدون فکر رو تشویق نکنین.

It means just random.

یعنی صرفا شانسی.

Thoughtless means you don’t think about it.

Thoughtless یعنی بهش فکر نمی‌کنین.

And reckless means taking big risks, to take big, big risks.

و Reckless یعنی ریسک بزرگ کردن، ریسک خیلی گنده کردن.

Someone who is reckless, you know, they don’t care about failing at all.

کسی که بی‌پرواست، می‌دونین، اصلا به شکست خوردن اهمیت نمی‌ده.

Reckless means you don’t care about the risks, you’re totally not afraid of taking a big chance.

Reckless یعنی به ریسک اهمیتی نمی‌دین، کلا از شانسای بزرگ نمی‌ترسین.

That’s reckless.

این می‌شه Reckless.

So he’s saying reckless or recklessness is the noun, it’s very good if it’s thoughtful.

پس داره می‌گه بی‌پروایی یا Recklessness که اسمشه، اگه همراه با تفکر باشه خیلی خوبه.

People who think about being reckless, people who think about taking big risks, people who think about trying something very different, if they think about it carefully and they really think about it and they have a plan, well that’s great.

افرادی که به بی‌پروا شدن فکر می‌کنن، افرادی که به ریسک بزرگ کردن فکر می‌کنن، افرادی که به امتحان کردن چیزای خیلی متفاوت فکر می‌کنن، اگه بادقت بهش فکر کنن و واقعا هم فکر کنن و واسه‌ش برنامه داشته باشن، این فوق‌العاده‌ست.

And he gives examples, Martin Luther King and Galileo and Picasso.

و بعدش مثال میاره، مارتین لوتر کینگ و گالیله و پیکاسو.

They were reckless, they tried very different, almost crazy things at that time in their life, in history and they succeeded, but they were thoughtful, they thought about it carefully.

اونا بی‌پروا بودن، چیزای خیلی متفاوت و تقریبا دیوونه‌واری رو توی زمان خودشون، توی تاریخ امتحان کردن، و موفق هم شدن، ولی خب با ملاحظه بودن، بادقت بهش فکر می‌کردن.

And he says, “Against long odds they tried to create an entirely new world.

و می‌گه، و با وجود احتمالات خیلی ضعیف (Against long odds) سعی کردن کاملا یه دنیای جدیدی بسازن.

” Against long odds, it means against difficult challenges, against difficult problems. It means there’s a low chance to succeed.

Against long odds، یعنی با وجود چالش‌های دشوار، با وجود مشکلات سخت، یعنی یه شانس پایینی واسه موفقیت وجود داشته باشه.

The chance to succeed is very small.

شانس موفقیت خیلی کوچیکه.

So against long odds, it means you’re going against what is normal.

پس Against long odds یعنی در برابر چیزی که نرماله می‌رین جلو.

It means you’re going against what is probable.

یعنی مقابل چیزی که احتمالش هست می‌رین جلو.

You’re probably going to fail if you go against the long odds, if you go against what is normal, if you go against what is probable.

یحتمل با وجود احتمالات ضعیف قراره که شکست بخورین، اگه خلاف چیزی که نرماله حرکت کنین، اگه خلاف چیزی که محتمله برین جلو.

So all these people, they tried something against long odds.

پس همه‌ی این آدما، بر خلاف احتمالات چیزیو امتحان کردن.

It means they probably were going to fail.

یعنی احتمالا قرار بوده که شکست بخورن.

Most people thought they would fail.

اکثر آدما فکر می‌کردن قراره شکست بخورن.

And, finally, we have the word ain’t, ain’t.

و در پایان، کلمه‌ی Ain’t (نیست) رو داریم، Ain’t.

He said “If that ain’t reckless I don’t know what the word means.

می‌گه اگه این اسمش بی‌پروایی نیست، پس من دیگه نمی‌دونم معنیش چی می‌شه.

” Ain’t really just means is not or am not or are not.

Ain’t در واقع همون Is not یا Am not یا Are not هستش.

And it’s a very, very casual way to say is not or am not.

یه روش خیلی خیلی عامیانه‌ی اینه که بگین Is not یا Am not.

Say “I ain’t hungry.

مثلا I ain’t hungry.

” It means I am not hungry.

می‌شه I am not hungry.

Or “He ain’t handsome.

یا He ain’t handsome.

” It means he is not handsome.

می‌شه He is not handsome.

So ain’t, again, is very, very casual.

پس دوباره، Ain’t خیلی خیلی عامیانه‌ست.

It does not sound intelligent, it does not sound intellectual.

کلمه‌ش خیلی هوشمندانه به نظر نمیاد، خیلی روشنفکرانه به نظر نمیاد.

It’s really the opposite, it kind of very emotional, very, very, very casual.

واقعا بر عکسه، یه جورایی احساسی هستش، خیلی خیلی خیلی عامیانه‌ست.

That’s ain’t, it means am not or are not or is not.

این شد Ain’t، یعنی Am not یا Are not یا Is not.

You can use it for all of those.

می‌تونی واسه همه‌ی اینا استفاده‌ش کنین.

He ain’t hungry.

I ain’t hungry.

They ain’t hungry.

Todd and Louis were penguins who undertook a long, dangerous trip from Antarctica to Thailand.

لوئیس و تاد پنگوئنایی بودن که یه سفر طولانی و خطرناک از قطب جنوب به تایلند رو شروع کردن.

They swam in the ocean going north and one night there was a big storm.

توی اقیانوس به سمت شمال شنا کردن و یه شبی یه طوفان بزرگی اومد.

The ocean was turbulent and very cold.

اقیانوس خیلی سرد و ناآرام بود.

During the storm was the ocean calm?

آیا طی طوفان، اقیانوس آروم بودش؟

No, it wasn’t calm it was turbulent.

نه آروم نبود، ناآروم بود.

The ocean was turbulent, it was not calm.

اقیانوس ناآروم بودش، آروم نبود.

Why was the ocean turbulent?

چرا اقیانوس ناآروم بود؟

Well, because there was a storm.

خب، چون یه طوفانی بودش.

The ocean was turbulent because there was a storm.

اقیانوس ناآروم بود بخاطر اینکه یه طوفانی اومده بود.

How was the ocean?

اقیانوس چه جوری بود؟

It was turbulent.

ناآروم بود.

The ocean was very turbulent (pow), big storm (pow, pow).

اقیانوس خیلی ناآروم بودش، طوفان گنده.

There were big, big waves, it was turbulent and cold and dangerous.

موجای خیلی خیلی بزرگ میومدن، ناآروم و سرد و خطرناک بودش.

The storm was very long.

طوفانه خیلی طولانی بود.

The storm lasted 20 days.

اون طوفان ۲۰ روز طول کشید.

Twenty days and 20 nights the ocean was turbulent, big, big waves crashing (pow, pow)!

بیست روز و بیست شب اقیانوس ناآروم بودش، موجای خیلی خیلی بزرگ برخورد می‌کردن.

The water was cold.

آب سرد بودش.

Todd and Louis continued to swim.

تاد و لوئیس به شنا کردن ادامه دادن.

Todd yelled “We ain’t quittin’!

تاد فریاد زد «ما کم نمیاریم»!

We’re going to Thailand!

«ما داریم می‌ریم تایلند»!

We ain’t gonna’ quit!

«ما قرار نیس کم بیاریم»!

Would they quit?

آیا اونا منصرف می‌شدن؟

No, they would not quit.

نه، منصرف نمی‌شدن.

Todd yelled “We ain’t quitting!

تاد فریاد زد «ما کم نمیاریم»!

” We are not quitting!

«ما انصراف نمی‌دیم»!

“We ain’t gonna’ quit!

«ما قرار نیس انصراف بدیم»!

” We will not quit!

«ما منصرف نخواهیم شد»!

They continued to swim.

به شنا کردن ادامه دادن.

They didn’t quit.

انصراف ندادن.

What did Todd say?

تاد چی گفتش؟

He said, he yelled “We ain’t quitting!

گفتش، فریاد زدش «ما کم نمیاریم»!

We’re going to Thailand.

«داریم می‌ریم تایلند».

Nothing can stop us, we ain’t gonna’ quit!

«هیچی نمی‌تونه جلومونو بگیره، ما انصراف نمی‌دیم»!

And they did not quit.

و انصراف هم ندادن.

They continued to swim during the storm going north, going north to Thailand.

طی طوفان به شنا کردن ادامه دادن و رفتن به طرف شمال، شمال به سمت تایلند.

And, finally, after 20 long, difficult days the storm stopped.

و بالاخره، بعد ۲۰ روز طولانی و سخت، طوفان تموم شد.

The ocean became calm and placid.

اقیانوس آروم و ساکن شدش.

Did the ocean become turbulent?

اقیانوس آشفته شدش؟

No, it didn’t, it became placid, very calm.

نه، نشد، آروم شدش، خیلی ساکن.

The ocean, the ocean became very placid, very, very calm.

It became placid.

The ocean became very placid and the water became very, very warm, warm and placid.

And then they saw it, they saw Thailand.

They arrived in Thailand!

Todd and Louis the penguins made it to Thailand.

تاد و لوئیسِ پنگوئن موفق شدن برسن به تایلند.

They swam through the placid warm water and they arrived on a beach.

توی آب گرم و آروم شنا کردن و رسیدن به یه ساحل.

Where did they arrive?

They arrived on a beach in Thailand.

Two penguins, two strange penguins arrived on a beach in Thailand; their names were Todd and Louis.

Immediately Todd and Louis said “We want to buy this beach.

And every day Todd and Louis the penguins laid on the beach in the sun next to the warm, placid waters of Thailand.

و هر روز تاد و لوئیسِ پنگوئن لم می‌دادن رو ساحل زیر آفتاب، کنار آب‌های گرم و آروم تایلند.

They were very relaxed and very warm and very, very happy penguins.

اونا پنگوئنای خیلی ریلکس و گرم و خیلی خیلی خوشحالی بودن.

What were they?

They were warm, relaxed, happy penguins.

پنگوئنای گرم، ریلکس و خوشحالی بودن.

Because every day they laid on a beach in Thailand under the sun.

And they were happy, warm, wonderful penguins.

همون داستان، بیاین شروع کنیم.

Number one, there were two penguins named Todd and Louis.

شماره یک، دو تا پنگوئن بودن به اسم تاد و لوئیس.

Todd and Louis were normal penguins when they were young.

تاد و لوئیس وقتی جوون بودن پنگوئنای نرمالی بودن.

When they were young they were very normal penguins.

وقتی جوون بودن پنگوئنای خیلی نرمالی بودن.

They liked to eat fish and they liked the cold weather.

دوست داشتن ماهی بخورن و هوای سرد رو دوست داشتن.

However, five years ago they changed.

هر چند، پنج سال پیش عوض شدن.

Since that time they have hated the cold.

از اون زمان از سرما بدشون میومده.

Since five years ago they have complained about the cold every day.

از ۵ سال پیش هر روز نسبت به سرما شکایت کردن.

Since five years ago they have dreamed of Thailand.

از ۵ سال پیش رویای تایلند داشتن.

They have wanted to buy a beach resort in Thailand.

خواستن که یه تفرجگاه ساحلی توی تایلند بخرن.

Since that time five years ago they have talked about buying a beach in Thailand.

از اون موقع، از ۵ سال پیش راجع به خریدن یه تفرجگاه ساحلی توی تایلند حرف می‌زدن.

Every day they have told the other penguins “We make no bones about it, we hate the cold!

هر روز به بقیه پنگوئنا گفتن که «ما عین خیالمونم نیس، از سرما بمون میاد»!

” Starting five years ago and continuing every day they have told the penguins the same thing.

با شروع از ۵ سال پیش و در ادامه‌ش هر روز به پنگوئنا همینو گفتن.

Every day they have said to everybody else, to all the other penguins, “We make no bones about it, we hate the cold!

هر روز به بقیه، به همه پنگوئنای دیگه گفتن، «عین خیالمونم نیست، ما از سرما متنفریم»!

” They have done this again and again and again.

اونا دوباره و دوباره و دوباره اینکارو کردن.

The other penguins thought they were very strange.

بقیه پنگوئنا فکر می‌کردن که اونا خیلی عجیب غریبن.

Until one day, finally, they undertook the long trip to Thailand.

تا یه روزی، بالاخره، شروع کردن به رفتن یه سفر طولانی به تایلند کردن.

Against long odds they began.

بر خلاف شانس کمشون، شروع کردن.

Against long odds they undertook the long and dangerous trip from Antarctica to Thailand.

با وجود شانس کم سفر بلند و خطرناک از قطب جنوب به تایلند رو شروع کردن.

They swam north and one day a big storm came and the ocean was very turbulent and dangerous.

شنا کردن سمت شمال و یه روز یه طوفان بزرگ اومد و اقیانوس خیلی نا‌آروم و خطرناک شد.

There were big, big waves (pow-pow), it was extremely turbulent, but they continued to swim north to Thailand.

موجای خیلی خیلی بزرگ میومد، شدیدا ناآروم بودش، ولی به شنا کردن سمت شمال و تایلند ادامه دادن.

And Todd yelled “We ain’t gonna’ quit!

و تاد فریاد زدش «ما قرار نیس کم بیاریم»!

We ain’t quittin’!

«ما انصراف نمی‌دیم»!

We’ll get to Thailand, we won’t stop!

«ما می‌رسیم تایلند، متوقف نمی‌شیم»!

” And so they continued to swim.

و خب به شنا کردن ادامه دادن.

The storm continued for 20 days and Todd and Louis continued to swim through the turbulent ocean during the entire 20 days of the storm.

طوفان واسه ۲۰ روز ادامه داشت و تاد و لوئیس به شنا کردن توی اقیانوس ناآروم طی تموم مدت ۲۰ روز طوفان ادامه دادن.

Until one day the storm stopped and the ocean became very placid and calm.

تا بالاخره یه روز طوفان متوقف شد و اقیانوس خیلی آروم و ساکن شدش.

The water became warm and they saw Thailand.

آب گرم شدش و تایلند رو دیدن.

They arrived in Thailand.

رسیدن تایلند.

They immediately swam to a beach.

بلافاصله شنا کردن سمت ساحل.

They climbed onto the beach and immediately they bought it because they were very rich penguins.

از ساحل رفتن بالا و بلافاصله خریدنش بخاطر اینکه پنگوئنای خیلی پولداری بودن.

They bought the beach in Thailand and they built a huge, magnificent resort.

ساحل توی تایلند رو خریدن و یه تفرجگاه گنده و باشگوه ساختن.

And every day they laid on the beach under the sun next to the calm and placid waters of Thailand.

و هر روز زیر آفتاب کنار آب‌های آروم و ساکن تایلند لم دادن روی ساحل.

They were warm, happy and feeling great.

اونا گرم و خوشحال بودن و حس فوق‌العاده‌ای داشتن.

And that is the end of the first POV story, next, into the future.

و اینم از آخر داستان POV اولمون، بعدیش، توی آینده.

This is my little idea for a story about the future.

این یه ایده‌ی کوچولوی منه واسه یه داستان درباره‌ی آینده.

I’m going to tell you about it, are you ready?

قراره که راجع بهش بهتون بگم، آماده‌این؟

Let’s do it.

بریم که انجامش بدیم.

In the future, maybe 10 years from now, there will be two penguins, two strange penguins.

توی آینده، شاید ۱۰ سال از الان، دو تا پنگوئن، دو تا پنگوئن عجیب غریب خواهند بود.

Their names will be Todd and Louis.

اسمشون تاد و لوئیس خواهد بودش.

Todd and Louis won’t be normal.

تاد و لوئیس قراره نرمال نباشن.

They won’t be the same as other penguins, they won’t like the cold.

مث بقیه پنگوئنا نیستن، سرما رو دوست ندارن.

In fact, they’re going to hate the cold.

در واقع، قراره از سرما متنفر باشن.

They’ll have a dream.

یه رویای خواهند داشت.

They’re going to want to buy a beach resort in Thailand.

قراره بخوان یه تفرجگاه ساحلی توی تایلند بخرن.

And they’re not going to make bones about this dream.

و قرار نیست که از این رویاشون خجالت بکشن.

They’re not going to apologize.

قرار نیست عذرخواهی کنن.

They’re not going to hide it.

قرار نیس پنهونش کنن.

They’re going to say “We make no bones about it, we hate the cold!

قراره بگن «ما خجالت نمی‌کشیم، از سرما بدمون میاد».

” They’ll tell everybody.

به همه اینو خواهند گفت.

They’re going to tell all the other penguins about their dream.

قراره به بقیه پنگوئنا راجع به رویاشون بگن.

And one day they’ll decide to do it.

و یه روز تصمیم می‌گیرن که انجامش بدن.

Against long odds they will undertake the long and dangerous trip to Thailand.

با وجود شانس کم سفر طولانی و خطرناکشون رو شروع خواهند کرد.

They’ll swim and they’ll swim and they’ll swim and then one day a big storm will come.

شنا خواهند کرد و شنا خواهند کرد و شنا خواهند کرد و یه روز یه طوفان بزرگ خواهد اومد.

The ocean will become very turbulent, but they’re not going to quit, they’ll keep going.

اقیانوس خیلی ناآروم خواهد شد، ولی اونا قرار نیست که انصراف بدن و ادامه خواهند داد.

The storm will last for 20 days and 20 nights, but they’ll keep swimming.

طوفان به مدت ۲۰ و ۲۰ شب روز طول خواهد کشید، ولی اونا به شنا کردن ادامه خواهند داد.

And Todd is going to yell “We ain’t quittin’!

و تاد قراره که فریاد کنه «ما کم نمی‌آریم»!

We ain’t gonna’ stop!

«ما قرار نیست متوقف شیم»!

We’re going to Thailand!

«ما به تایلند می‌ریم»!

” And they will, they will continue.

و همینطور هم خواهد شد، اونا ادامه خواهند داد.

They’ll keep swimming through the storm, through the turbulent ocean.

اونا به شنا کردن توی طوفان ادامه خواهند داد، توی اون اقیانوس ناآروم.

Until one day the storm will stop.

تا یه روز طوفان متوقف خواهد شد.

The storm is going to stop suddenly and the ocean will become very placid and calm.

طوفان قراره که یهو متوقف شه و اقیانوس خیلی آروم و ساکن خواهد شد.

And the water will become very warm and they will see Thailand.

و قراره آب خیلی گرم بشه و اونا تایلند رو ببینن.

They will arrive in Thailand, finally.

اونا به تایلند خواهند رسید، نهایتا.

They will swim to the beach, they’ll come up onto the beach and they’ll yell “We want to buy this beach, right now!

شنا خواهند کرد سمت ساحل، میان بالا روی ساحل و فریاد خواهند زد «ما می‌خوایم همین الان این ساحل رو بخریم»!

” Because, of course, they’re going to be extremely rich penguins.

بخاطر اینکه مشخصا قراره پنگوئنای خیلی پولداری باشن.

And they’ll do it, they’ll buy the beach and then they’ll build a magnificent, huge resort on the beach.

و این کار رو هم خواهند کرد، ساحل رو خواهند خرید و یه تفرجگاه بزرگ و مجلل روی ساحل خواهند ساخت.

And every day they’re going to lay on the beach under the warm sun next to the placid waters of Thailand.

و هر روز قراره که زیر خورشید گرم کتار آب‌های آروم تایلند روی ساحل لم بدن.

They’ll be warm and happy and relaxed.

اون‌ها گرم و خوشحال و ریلکس خواهند بود.
